Same day (Sunday), same hour but different names for the second mass of the season. Rashif, Maarten, Tim and Martijn will be joined by Wouter and Chris. Each and every one of them a top class player who will once again guarantee a joyful celebration.
Wouter Dewit may not be a stranger to the trained VELINX-visitor, both solo as well as with Illumine he has been on our stage in the past. This summer, you could even see him at work during the MoMeNT summer festival. With his minimalist, tranquil and at the same time intense compositions, pianist Wouter is the perfect bridge builder between classical and neoclassical music. His music was once described as 'Golden Melancholy'. No wonder it has been streamed more than 14 million times on Spotify.
Chris De Stoop became known as the author of much-discussed non-fiction books. His work won literary and journalistic awards and was translated into more than ten countries. His sensational debut 'Ze zijn zo lief, meneer', about a gang of traffickers in women, was a smash hit in 1992 and led to, among other things, a noted performance at King Boudewijn's funeral. Six months ago, just thirty years after his debut, his latest book 'Hemelrijk', about corona in residential care homes, again made big headlines and caused reactions in the political world. In his sermon, Chris De Stoop will address the more topical theme of 'informal care' than ever.
