LASWERK brings musicians from all corners and genres together for a one-time concert at Club AFF. Boundaries fade, styles clash and merge into something unexpectedly new. Expect swirling twists, musical sparks, and an energy that will carry you far beyond the evening. Bert Peyffers and Adil Benhsain invite a vibrant group of guest musicians to explore the fusion point between genres and instruments.

Guests for this edition include composer and violinist Mart Flecijn, singer and multi-instrumentalist Kaito Winse, and drummer Cas Kinnaer.

Mart Flecijn started playing the violin at the age of four at the Academy in Hamme and continued her studies with the Hungarian violinist Pál Szomora, through whom she was introduced to gypsy music and gypsy swing. At the age of 14, she was admitted to the Lemmens Institute. She later studied at LUCA School of Arts and the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles and attended masterclasses both in Belgium and abroad. In 2012, she won the Belfius Classics competition and performed as a soloist with the East Flemish Symphony Orchestra. Mart has toured with bands such as Les Poissons Voyageurs, Flairck, and Trio Flecijn through Mexico, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Portugal, and many other countries.

Kaito Winse is a versatile artist from Burkina Faso, based in Brussels, with a new album set to release in 2025. Following his debut album Kaladounia in 2020, Kaito continues his journey through music and tradition, crafting profound, reflective lyrics drawn from the rich well of oral traditions. Kaito masters an impressive array of instruments, including the calabash, mouth bow, Peul flute, toutlé flute, and the tama, a drum capable of imitating the human voice. His exceptional vocals and storytelling evoke the intensity and drama of an operatic performance.

Cas Kinnaer started drumming at a young age, inspired by his father, drummer of The Boerenzonen Op Speed. After a classical and jazz education at Musart and LUCA School of Arts (Leuven), where he studied with renowned musicians, he developed his career. He currently drums in projects like ILA, Zelden, and Yunotes and previously performed with the trio Seizoensklanken.

In recent years, Bert Peyffers has become a vital figure in the Belgian music scene. A master of percussion and an atmosphere creator with projects like Wamaki's, Ão, and Vermin Twins, he has made a lasting mark. This year, he also joined the Elfurenmis house band and is now bringing musicians together for LASWERK.
