After the season opener, LASWERK returns on the last Wednesday of the month in Bootstraat. As always, we bring together a unique group of musicians for a one-night-only concert where everything is created in the moment. No repeats, no retakes. Just sound, intuition and encounter.
LASWERK is not a traditional concert but an artistic pressure cooker. Host Bert Peyffers invites a new mix of artists each time, who spend a single day writing, rehearsing and performing together. No fixed setlist, no predefined plan. Just experimentation, energy and collaboration.
On Sunday 26 November, we welcome three musicians, each with a distinct sonic voice: multi-instrumentalist Abel Ghekiere, guitarist Tim Finoulst and accordionist Stan Maris. What they create that day will be heard only once, live in Bootstraat.
Abel Ghekiere is a Belgian multi-instrumentalist whose sound moves between minimalist jazz, traditional folk and field recordings. His music is fragile, searching and immersive. It dares to hesitate and, in doing so, strikes a deep chord.
Tim Finoulst is a guitarist and familiar face at B-Classic. He graduated summa cum laude from the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp and was a long-time member of the Elfurenmis house band. His playing is melodic, warm and always in service of the whole.
Stan Maris is an accordionist and composer active in Belgium’s jazz and improvisation scene. Alongside his solo work, he leads projects like Kreis, Kin Gajo and Erem, and performs with Suura and the Mathieu Robert Ensemble. His sound world is both adventurous and delicate.
