B-Classic - 02.08.2025 LASWERK #10 at Absolutely Free Festival

For the tenth edition of LASWERK, we’re stepping outside our familiar walls and heading to Absolutely Free Festival. A new setting, but the same concept: bringing together musicians from diverse artistic backgrounds for one intense day in the rehearsal room and on stage. Curators Bert Peyffers and Adil Benhsain join forces with their guests in search of the fault line between genres, instruments and ideas.

For this special festival edition, we’re inviting two international artists from the mysterious UK-based collective Leather.head: drummer Cole O’Neill and saxophonist Josh Evans-Jesra.

Also joining the line-up: Sietse Willems of Meltheads (remember the very first LASWERK at De Nieuwe Zaal?), as well as pianist and synth player Babette Rogiers, who was part of the B-Classic Wild Gene Collective earlier this year. As always, Bert Peyffers takes on percussion duties, while Adil Benhsain brings his viola, oud... or both.

A one-off encounter full of improvisation, experimentation and unexpected sonic fusion.
