The Cabinet Sessions – An Exclusive Evening at the Rubenshuis

Four times a year, the Rubenshuis opens its doors for an exclusive Friday evening: The Cabinet Sessions. Step into Rubens’ private cabinet and experience the Rubenshuis like never before. On March 7, 2025, Benjamin Glorieux, Instagram phenomenon The Gaze, DJ Messias, and other artists will set the stage for a spectacular first edition.

Musical connector B-Classic presents a daring live music program. Cellist Benjamin Glorieux, guitarist Tim Finoulst, pianist Maarten Lingier, and bassist Martijn Vanbuel join forces to create a unique performance.

About B-Classic
Each year, the Rubenshuis hands over the key to its cabinet to an inspiring curator. In 2025, B-Classic takes visitors into their world. B-Classic fosters encounters between artists, genres, and audiences, opening up the world of classical music and exploring how music—past and present—is created and experienced. With an open-minded approach, B-Classic supports artists, giving them space to create, experiment, and perform.

During The Cabinet Sessions, you can see him perform live. In a unique presentation, he unveils the secrets behind an artwork from the Rubenshuis collection. Curious to hear his story?

Ever wanted to explore Rubens’ garden by moonlight? Join a speed tour with a flashlight and discover the garden’s highlights with a guide. At the end of the walk, enjoy a cup of herbal tea, made from an exclusive selection of garden herbs.

Portrait Sketching with Bertrand Desmaricaux

For years, Belgian painter Bertrand Desmaricaux has created striking portraits of both famous and lesser-known faces. With his colorful oil paintings and ink drawings, he captures the soul of his subjects in an intimate way. During this hands-on session, Desmaricaux will teach you how to create a drawing from scratch. Take a seat at the sketching table during The Cabinet Sessions and uncover your own talent for portrait drawing.

All Night Long – Drinks & DJ Set
Ongoing from 19:00 – 23:00
Stroll through the rooms of the Rubens Experience and uncover hidden treasures in the library. Step into the garden or grab a drink at the bar. And let yourself be carried away by a vibrant DJ set!
