LASWERK #15

A new club season, a new series of LASWERK nights at Bootstraat. This autumn, we're once again throwing musicians from all corners of the Belgian music scene into our artistic pressure cooker. One day to get to know each other, exchange ideas, experiment and create something together that will be heard live for the first and last time that very evening.

On Friday 23 October, we kick off the new season with Lore Borremans (Blue Robin), Mikko Pablo (Karavan Ensemble), Jess Jacob (Monagi) and our resident host Bert Peyffers.

What will it sound like? No idea. And that's exactly the point.

No fixed setlist, no predefined path. Just curiosity, experimentation and musical encounters. Genres collide, ideas merge and music takes shape in real time.

Since 2026, LASWERK has also had its own podcast, LASWERK: In De Maak. Somewhere between rehearsal and concert, the musicians sit down with Bert Peyffers for an open conversation about the creative process, their musical backgrounds and the unexpected directions the day takes them. A snapshot of music in the making.

No repetition, no retakes. Just sound, intuition and connection.

Free entry, priceless experience.

LASWERK is a production by B-Classic and Club AFF, with the support of the City of Hasselt, the Flemish Community and thanks to the players of the National Lottery.

LORE BORREMANS (BLUE ROBIN)

Singer, guitarist and songwriter who explores the space between dreamy indie pop, melancholy and drama with Blue Robin. With a powerful voice and an intuitive approach to songwriting, she delves into personal stories, emotions and musical experimentation, refusing to be confined to a single genre.

MIKKO PABLO (KARAVAN)

Filipino-American cellist who grew up musically between the Philippines, the United States and Belgium. His musical world moves between classical, contemporary music and experimentation. At BUITEN DIENST, he experimented with electronics and loops for the very first time. We're curious to see where he'll take them next at LASWERK.

JESS JACOB (MONAGI)

Ghent-based multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer known for his work with Tout Va Bien, Piquet, Patches and his own project Monagi. With one foot in French chanson and the other in indie folk and alternative pop, he creates cinematic, richly layered music. From electric guitar and bass to vocals and production, Jess moves effortlessly between instruments, genres and musical worlds.

BERT PEYFFERS (ÃO)

Percussionist with Ão, a constant musical connector at B-Classic and the driving force behind LASWERK. As curator and host, he brings together a colourful bunch of musicians and dives straight into the artistic pressure cooker himself. With his percussion, curiosity and instinct for musical chemistry, he brings the most unexpected musical worlds together. Or throws in a few extra sparks just to see what happens.
