The Elfurenmis barrel is far from empty. After a completely sold-out series, Hendrik Vos and ESINAM kick off the new Elfurenmis season.
Europe, cradle of democracy: what does it still stand for in 2026? Hendrik Vos offers us expert insight during his sermon. Hendrik teaches European politics at Ghent University and writes columns for De Standaard. He is a regular guest on current affairs programmes on television and radio, and occasionally also in less serious broadcasts. The professor avoids woolly language and, back when he was still young and promising, won the Wablieft Prize for Plain Language together with VRT journalist Rob Heirbaut. When he is not busy solving the world’s problems, he is usually on his bike.
Esinam Dogbatse is a Belgian Ghanaian multi-instrumentalist, composer and performer who brings together flute, percussion, electronics and voice in a hypnotic musical world. Drawing from African rhythms, jazz and electronic music, she creates layered soundscapes full of groove, improvisation and poetry. What began as a one woman band has grown into a full live band, but the essence remains the same: music that sets both body and imagination in motion. Alongside her solo work, she has collaborated with artists and projects such as Témé Tan, Kel Assouf, Marockin’ Brass and Sysmo, and appeared as a guest musician on releases by Baloji, Ibaaku and Jaguar Jaguar.
The Elfurenmis series is a co-production by De VELINX and B-Classic and is made possible thanks to the support of Flanders, the players of the National Lottery and the City of Tongeren-Borgloon.
