Elis Floreen is the new alter ego of singer songwriter and producer Marijke Maes, straight outta Limburg. She studied at the Royal Conservatory of Ghent and spent a semester at the Rhythmic Music Conservatory in Copenhagen through an Erasmus programme. Her musical roots lie in the sounds of the sixties, seventies and eighties, a timeless palette she weaves into colourful and unpredictable songwriting. Once performing under the name AUDRY, she now writes her own narrative as Elis Floreen.

What makes her soft, slightly ethereal voice even more magical? When it blends with dreamy visuals. During The Cabinet Sessions, she performed a live soundtrack to Ice Merchants, the award winning animated short film by Portuguese director João Gonzalez, an intimate and poetic tale about the bond between father and son. Think cinematic textures, sensory scoring and a tender dialogue between sound and image.

For B Classic, Marijke was previously part of LASWERK and brought her live soundtracks to De Nieuwe Zaal and The Cabinet Sessions.
