Unfortunately, the weather forecast leaves us no choice: the concert of Wim Mertens and Elisabeth Klinck this Saturday in Genk will not take place at LABIOMISTA.

But don’t worry! Thanks to the joint forces of B-Classic and AFF, we have found a beautiful alternative. The concert is moving to the Church of Our Lady of Fatima in Bret-Gelieren, also known as the ‘concert church’. This modernist space embraces you with light and sound and offers an impressive acoustics – the perfect setting for an evening that promises to be truly unforgettable.

Wim Mertens, pioneer of minimalism and a longstanding presence in the international music scene, takes to the piano. His signature compositions and mystical voice will echo across the landscape. He is joined by clarinettist and saxophonist Dirk Descheemaeker, his trusted musical partner for many years.
This will be Mertens’ only performance on Belgian soil in 2025 – a rare opportunity to experience the Limburg-born composer live.

Opening the evening is Elisabeth Klinck, with an intimate solo performance. A young violinist and composer, Klinck moves effortlessly through the future of sound with her atmospheric style, electroacoustic flair and finely tuned presence. In Genk, she presents her brand-new album Chronotopia, in which she embraces her voice as an essential counterbalance to her violin.
B-Classic has worked with Elisabeth on several occasions, including as one-third of the electrifying trio Isabelle Lewis.
