This season, Thomas Vanderveken will once again host five evening sessions with fascinating musicians, which promise to be clever, illuminating, upbeat and engaging. Those who have attended these sessions before know that the guest's life story serves as the inspiration for an adventurous journey to the core of our very existence. And we can all agree that without encounters like these, life would be far less interesting.
Despite his young age, 35-year-old Flemish composer Frederik Neyrinck boasts an impressive list of achievements. Orchestras, concert bands, fanfares, chamber music, organ, piano: he’s composed award-winning work for nearly all genres and instruments.
For this special event, we asked him to pair up with audio artist Lucas Derycke. Lucas wrote a radio play and Frederik composed the music, which will be performed live by the celebrated Flemish music ensemble I Solisti. Come and enjoy the world premiere in none other than Genk. We’ve said it before: sharp, eloquent, good-natured, big-hearted and fascinating.
