For the seventh edition of The Cabinet Sessions, curator B-Classic brings together three remarkable musical personalities on one stage for the very first time: Remy Van Kesteren, Bert Peyffers and Boris Van Overschee. Three musicians from different musical worlds meeting for the first time in the intimate setting of The Cabinet Sessions at the Rubens House.
Remy Van Kesteren, described by The New York Times as a "brilliant harpist," has long been recognised as one of the most innovative harpists of his generation. After an international career on the world's leading classical stages, he has increasingly embraced a personal musical language where harp, electronics, pop and improvisation merge effortlessly. With his latest album, Leave What You Know, he takes another bold step forward: more personal, more adventurous and completely unconstrained by genre.
Bert Peyffers is a percussionist, composer and musical connector. Known for his work with Wamaki's, Ão and the house band of Elfurenmis, he moves effortlessly between jazz, world music, electronics and improvisation. His playing is rhythmic, intuitive and driven by collaboration.
Boris Van Overschee is a guitarist, producer and composer. Over the past years he has collaborated with artists including Eefje de Visser, Portland, Delv!s, Noa Lee and Okon, developing a versatile musical practice in which guitar, electronics and sound design blend seamlessly. His playing is characterised by subtle layering, a refined sense of texture and a constant curiosity for new sonic landscapes.
