Stage director Aïda Gabriëls invites composer-organist Maria W Horn, the Ictus ensemble, and a dancer for a long performance ...
Matteo Sedda is a choreographer, dancer, and activist of Sardinian origin. He has collaborated and continues to work as a freelance artist with various figures, including Jan Fabre, Enzo Cosimi, Aïda Gabriëls, Igor x Moreno, and Dag Taeldeman & Andrew Van Ostade.
Since 2018, Sedda has been pursuing choreographic research deeply shaped by his experience with HIV. Through explorations of desire and vulnerability, he seeks to create new representations of AIDS that renew the dialogue between historical memory and artistic remodelling.
His work pays tribute to the artists lost to complications related to GRID (Gay-Related Immune Deficiency), establishing a contemporary conversation with the past. His infected body becomes the starting point for a new choreographic language and form of writing.
Following his first solo POZ!, in which coming out as a person living with HIV became both a political and artistic manifesto, Sedda continued his artistic journey with FUCK ME BLIND. This choreographic duet was awarded the DNAppunti Coreografici Prize in 2024.
As an activist, Sedda shares his personal experience to offer information and support around HIV. He collaborates with several organisations across Europe, including LILA, Sensoa, Ex Aequo, and Plateforme Prévention Sida.
