Maarten Lingier
Maarten Lingier (1993) started his studies in the Conservatorium van Amsterdam with prof. Jan Wijn for piano in 2011 and graduated in 2015 'with excellence' for the Bachelor in Music.
In 2015, he started studying at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Brussel as a master student to study with prof. Boyan Vodenitcharov. In 2017 he graduated 'Cum Laude'.
In 2018 he entered the composition class (niveau supérieure) in Ecole Normale de Musique de Paris, Alfred Cortot with prof. Edith Lejet. In 2019 he obtained the Diplôme Supérieure de composition.
In 2019, he was commissioned by the B-Classic festival to write a chamber-opera. This piece was premiered at the festival.
In the same year he became finalist from the Concours Île de créations. His work 'Suite concertante pour violoncelle' was premiered in 2021 by the Orchestre National d'Île de France with Victor Julien-Laferrière as a soloist. This piece was also broadcasted on the French Radio in le concert du 20 heures on FRANCE MUSIQUE.
In 2020 he was commissioned to write a piece for violin and piano for the Belgian radio KLARA. This piece was recorded by Vilmos Csikos on violin and himself on the piano and it was broadcasted several times on the radio. Currently he is working on a commission by the KVS (Royal Flemish Theater) for a theater piece.
He is also very active in the field of improvisation.
